I am young African-American woman and I am in transition with my hair (meaning I use to get relaxers but I am going natural). I have been natural for about 7 months. I manage my hair by geting sew-in extentions. I was looking for a flat iron that won't burn/damage my hair but at the same time get to me roots and edges. My friend told me her experience with her Amika. She is also African-American and has long thick/coarse hair. We both Used CHI irons before. The guy at the mall expalined that CHI irons are coated with ceramic but the Amika's entire plate is ceramic. I was loving what she said about the product however I didn't want to pay $250.00 for a flat iron. So went Amazon.com and look at to Amika flat irons. I was very skeptical about it at first because I have never onlind shopped before. I took a risk and placed the order. I got it a day earlier then it was suppose to come. I straighten my hair with it. . . and FELL IN LOVE! it blended my extentions and natural hair very well. Even in the humidity my hair my hair was a litte poofy, my hair was still straight.I'm glad that I bought the Amika flat iron but didn't break my wallet to do so!
